Arnold Chamber of Commerce Scholarships Awarded to Local Students

The Arnold Chamber of Commerce was proud to award its annual scholarships for 2010 to Danielle Canovi (Fox High School), Zana Ganic (Windsor High School), Tyler Farmer (Seckman High School), Zachary Haver (Fox High School) and Dakota Killian (Fox High School) at its annual Scholarship Recipient Luncheon, held Tuesday, June 15th, 2010.
The scholarship program was founded in 2003 to provide financial assistance to the area’s most accomplished and dedicated students. The criteria for awarding scholarships to each recipient are judged by the scholarship committee based upon letters of achievement, recommendation, volunteerism and need. The scholarship committee consists of six dedicated chamber members, Pat Keith (Commerce Bank), Pat Miller (JP Promotions), Beverly Leon (Arnold Dental Arts), Troy Hardin (Jim Butler Chevrolet), Debbie Kettler (First State Community Bank) and Rob Schneider (Leader Publications).
This committee puts together an annual scholarship auction. Proceeds raised at this event go towards scholarships. However, last November the Arnold Chamber of Commerce scholarship committee made the decision to cancel its annual scholarship auction due to poor ticket sales and the current economic downturn. They decided to take up a collection at the monthly member luncheons to put towards the scholarships. Thanks to the donations made by our generous members and the original seed money, the Chamber was able to grant five, $750.00 scholarships for 2010.
In an effort to raise funds for next year’s scholarship recipients, The Arnold Chamber of Commerce will be hosting its 37th Annual Arnold Chamber of Commerce and 9/11 Remembrance Golf Tournament on Saturday,
